IG1 Task Short Film Analysis

About A Girl

Cinematography

Within this film there are many types of different camera views. One of these is the aerial shot used just after she’s thrown the baby in the river this shot is used to show sympathy and loneliness as she walks away by herself.

A close up shot is used when she is talking about Madonna and her mother and is used to show the bold relationship between the girl and her mother.
A two shot and medium shot is used when she is speaking to her dad in the cafe.  This is used to show the distant relationship between the two as they aren’t sat next to each other and sat opposite of each other.
A track shot is used when she is sat outside the pub like when the camera pulls away steady it shows that she is lonely and no one else is there with her. We have already seen she is lonely with the aerial shot of her at the end so this camera view emphasises the loneliness even more.
A tilt shot is used whilst she is walking to show the environment and also whilst she is walking a steadicam is used to show she is talking to us.
